LOS ANGELES (CNN) -- With winds gusting up to 100 mph, about
600 firefighters worked to control a blaze Wednesday that has
charred 5,200 acres and two homes about 40 miles south of Los
Angeles.
No injuries have been reported in the Orange County fire,
officials said. The blaze began late Monday just west of
Cleveland National Forest and quickly spread to a sparsely
populated area dotted with cabins.
Authorities said the fire was caused by a man, who was not
identified, trying to illegally burn off insulation from
copper wire so he could sell it to a scrap yard.
