MIAMI (CNN) -- The Brooke Group Ltd. and its Liggett Group
tobacco subsidiary have reached an agreement with Nevada to
settle the state's lawsuit to recover Medicaid costs for
smoking-related illnesses, the company said.
The Nevada attorney general made the same announcement when
the deal was made last week, according to a spokeswoman for
the state's attorney general.
Nevada is the 27th state with which Liggett, maker of Salem
and Lark cigarettes, has cut its own separate peace,
according to a statement issued by the company.
According to the statement, Nevada will receive
"substantially the same terms that 26 other states received
in the previously announced settlement agreements," said
Brooke Neilsen, a spokeswoman for Nevada's attorney general.
