FAIRFAX, Virginia (CNN) -- Television and other cameras will not be allowed in the courtroom during the trial of a man charged with killing two CIA employees outside the agency's headquarters, a judge ruled Wednesday.

Mir Aimal Kansi faces 10 state charges and a possible death penalty in the January 25, 1993, attack in which three other people were wounded.

Judge J. Howe Brown set a trial date of November 3. The judge said cameras will not be allowed because "witnesses need to know that they are safe from their photographic images appearing in the media."

Washington-area television stations had filed a motion requesting that the trial be televised.
