Elmo craze coming this fall to a J.C. Penney near you

LOS ANGELES (CNN) -- Get ready to find out how it really feels to play like Elmo and have perfect strangers rub your tummy.

In September, J.C. Penney plans to unveil a sweatshirt with Elmo -- he of the "Tickle Me Elmo" toy craze -- emblazoned in all his red, furry glory on the front.

And when Elmo is rubbed? He won't just giggle. He'll say, "Oh, boy, that tickles." No word yet, though, on what the shirt's wearer might say.

However, the strongest giggling will likely be going on among the bean counters at J.C. Penney. That's because the sweatshirt will retail somewhere between $35 and $55.
