Man accused of trying to burn Ramsey mansion

BOULDER, Colorado (CNN) -- A man was arrested Thursday and charged with attempted arson and trespassing after he called police and told them he tried to set fire to the home where JonBenet Ramsey was found dead, Boulder police said.
There was apparently little damage to the mansion when burning papers that a TV station said were clippings about the girl's murder were stuffed through a mail slot in the front door, authorities said.
James Michael Thompson, 33, who uses the name J.T. Colfax in his work as a "performance artist," called police Thursday and said he had "done it again." When asked what that meant, he said he had tried to burn the Ramsey house, the police report said.
Thompson said he spent Wednesday night on the Ramsey property, and started the fire then. He was arrested several weeks ago after a page with JonBenet's name disappeared from a logbook at Boulder's morgue.
He also was accused of photographing defaced corpses while on his job transporting bodies from the Boulder County morgue to Denver. The 6-year-old JonBenet was found strangled in the basement of her home December 26. The case remains unsolved.
