Tobacco deal 'dead' -- so battle moves back to the courts

The "landmark" tobacco settlement reached in 1997 died an unceremonious death in 1998 as both the industry and members of Congress backed away from the agreement.

Now, the battle turns back to the nation's courtrooms -- where attorneys representing states and plantiffs' continue to pursue multi-million dollar lawsuits against cigarette-makers.
