More details on JonBenet autopsy due next week
May 16, 1997
BOULDER, Colorado (CNN) -- Some of the still-secret portion of the JonBenet Ramsey autopsy report will be released next week, a judge ruled on Thursday. The 6-year-old girl was found strangled in a basement room of her family's Boulder home December 26, hours after her mother reported finding a ransom note. Though some of the autopsy findings were released three months ago, the Boulder coroner had argued that the remainder ought to remain secret until charges are filed or the investigation is closed. But Boulder District Judge Carol Glowinsky ruled that the rest of the autopsy report would be released to the public Wednesday. She ordered only a few portions -- including a paragraph detailing an external exam -- withheld for three more months. Also Thursday: Police said they received the results of DNA tests conducted on various pieces of evidence taken from the Ramsey home. Authorities did not comment on the findings.
