DALLAS (CNN) -- A self-described white supremacist is being held in a Dallas jail after firing into the air with a rifle outside of a messianic synagogue Saturday, authorities say.
Witnesses say Donald Ray Anderson, wearing army fatigues, was shouting "Die, Jews, die" when he opened fire at the Baruch Ha Shem synagogue, whose members observe Jewish ritual but believe that Jesus Christ was the messiah. No one was injured.
Anderson, 48, told police he was a member of the Ku Klux Klan, although police say he seemed to know very little about the group. He was charged with deadly conduct and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
