No new clues in search for A-10 in ColoradoApril 19, 1997Web posted at: 11:50 p.m. EDT (0350 GMT) EAGLE, Colorado (CNN) -- Another day of searching the Colorado Rockies Saturday turned up no clues as to the whereabouts of an A-10 attack jet missing since April 2. Air Force Maj. Gen. Nels Running said that 15 sorties by search planes turned up "no significant positive results." Search flights had to be suspended in the afternoon due to high winds, he said. Because of expected cloud cover, Running said flights by U-2 spy planes scheduled for Sunday have been canceled. The jet and its pilot, Capt. Craig Button, disappeared while on a training flight over the Arizona desert. The plane was last detected on radar near Eagle, Colorado. Related stories:
