April 2, 1997
NEW YORK (CNN)-- Boxing promoter Don King appeared in federal court Wednesday to enter a not guilty plea involving charges against himself and his company, Don King Productions.
King, 65, is charged with fraudulently claiming insurance money after canceling a title fight between Julio Cesar Chavez and Harold Brazier in 1991.
A spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney's office said no trial date has been set.
A previous trial on the same charge resulted in a hung jury.
