Simpson transfers assets awarded to plaintiffs

LOS ANGELES (CNN) -- O.J. Simpson has moved to protect some of the property that a court said he must turn over to plaintiffs who were awarded a $33.5 million civil judgment against the former football star.
According to Simpson's attorney Dan Leonard, those items had already been transferred to his children Sydney and Justin in a trust to be used toward payment of the judgment to the estate of Nicole Brown Simpson. Leonard says the others plaintiffs cannot touch this stuff.
Among the things not seized by deputies who came by his house to collect the items Friday: expensive jewelry, an Andy Warhol serigraph, a Chevrolet Suburban, Simpson's Heisman Trophy and his Hall of Fame ring. Leonard says some of the missing items may have been transferred to museums.
In February, a civil jury found him responsible for the deaths of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and Ronald Goldman. A criminal jury had acquitted him of murder charges in October 1995.
