Media watchdogs protest coverage of Ramsey case

BOULDER, Colorado (CNN) -- A media watchdog group led a protest Sunday to criticize media coverage of the JonBenet Ramsey killing case.
As many as 50 people attended the Rocky Mountain Media Watch rally, including six television stations and networks covering the event.
A few people carried signs such as "Free the Media" and "Media Go Home."
Rocky Mountain Media Watch formed in 1994 to monitor media coverage, particularly tabloid-type trends. The group accused the media of over-emphasizing the Ramsey case, and challenged them to concentrate on more substantive issues.
JonBenet Ramsey, a 6-year-old beauty pageant contestant, was found strangled in the basement of her family's Boulder home on December 26.
