Rockettes give spring a kickNew Yorkers get a leg up on the seasonMarch 20, 1997Web posted at: 11:50 p.m. EST
NEW YORK (CNN) -- The signs of spring are everywhere. Snow is melting, birds are chirping -- and the Rockettes are kicking up their well-toned heels at Sixth Avenue and 50th Street in New York. ![]() To celebrate the arrival of the first day of spring, the famed Radio City Music Hall dance troupe took their act out in front of the theater Thursday. The Rockettes began their show wearing yellow raincoats and twirling umbrellas -- but soon kicked aside those accouterments of wintry weather and danced down to lavender numbers showing off all those famous legs. Of course, no performance by the Rockettes would be complete without their signature synchronized kick line. The dancers were more than happy to oblige.
