Cocaine found in toilet shipment
March 3, 1997 MIAMI (CNN) -- Federal drug and customs agents seized 3,250 pounds of cocaine hidden in a shipment of toilets that arrived at the Port of Miami, authorities said Monday. Agents, acting on a tip, discovered the cocaine in a 40-foot container taken off a Colombian-flagged freighter. The container was searched after a trained dog indicated the presence of drugs. No arrests were immediately reported. The street value of the cocaine is estimated to be just over $25 million, according to U.S. Customs spokesman Michael Sheehan. Related story:
