First female bomber pilot faces court-martial
February 21, 1997 MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, North Dakota (CNN) -- The Air Force said its first female bomber pilot faces a court-martial hearing after being charged with adultery and conduct unbecoming an officer. The Air Force refused to discuss specifics of the case but said the hearing would probably come within two months. First Lt. Kelly Flinn, who is not married, is accused of having a sexual relationship with a subordinate, who is married. In addition to the adultery charge, Flinn has been charged with fraternization, failure to obey a lawful order and making a false official statement. Flinn is assigned to the 23rd Bomb Squadron at Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota. She flies B-52 bombers.
