Teens accused of infanticide go home on bond
January 31, 1997Web posted at: 11:00 p.m. EST NEW YORK (CNN) -- A teen-age couple accused of murdering their newborn son three months ago went home to New Jersey, said Kathleen Jennings, the girl's attorney. Amy Grossberg and Brian Peterson were released on bail in Delaware last week, but they were not able to leave until the court could establish a monitoring system for them. They were bailed out by their parents after prosecutors decided not to contest the defense's desire to get them released on bond. Peterson and Grossberg have not denied the birth of the baby or that they disposed of him in a motel dumpster, but they denied charges that they fractured their infant's skull.
