GM workers at Ohio plant go on strike

MORAINE, Ohio (CNN) -- About 4,300 workers at a General Motors plant in Ohio went on strike Sunday after rejecting a three-year contract that workers say binds them to terms that crack down on absenteeism.

Workers at the Moraine truck assembly plant make Chevrolet Blazers, Oldsmobile Bravadas and GMC Jimmy sport utility vehicles.

GM spokesman Jeff Kuhlman said the strike will not have the widespread impact of last year's 17-day strike at two Dayton-area brake plants. Those strikes shut down nearly all of GM's North American production.
