Reward in Cosby slaying increases
January 23, 1997Web posted at: 1:27 p.m. EST (1827 GMT) LOS ANGELES (CNN) -- The Los Angeles City Council has offered a $25,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction in the Ennis Cosby murder case. The offer brings the total reward for such information to $337,500. In announcing the decision, councilman Mike Feuer said the suspect "represents an ongoing threat to the safety of the people of Los Angeles." Earlier in the week, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and two tabloid newspapers offered rewards. Cosby, the 27-year-old only son of entertainer Bill Cosby, was shot and killed by an unidentified gunman last week in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, news reports said the elder Cosby, in dealing with his own son's slaying, called and comforted Loretta Thomas-Davis, the mother of a 17-year old high school student who was fatally shot on the same day. Her daughter, Corie Williams, was killed when a gang member shot at a rival on a public bus in Watts. Related stories:
