Murdered girl's parents answering written questions

BOULDER, Colorado (CNN) -- The parents ofJonBenet Ramsey, the 6-year-old girl found strangled to death in her basement the day after Christmas, were replying on Monday to written questions from police.
As of midday Monday, no formal face-to-face interview had taken place. The police and JonBenet's parents, John and Patricia Ramsey, however, said they expected to schedule a meeting soon.
Classmates observe moment of silence
The dead girl's elementary school classmates observed a moment of silence in her honor Monday as they returned to school for the first time since JonBenet's body was discovered, her mouth covered with duct tape.
Psychologists and counselors were on hand Monday morning for youngsters who wanted help in dealing with their grief and fears about the little beauty queen's still-unexplained death.
Investigators return to Boulder
In Georgia, where the Ramsey family lived until 1991, police in the Atlanta suburb of Roswell said five investigators from the Boulder police department returned to Colorado after interviewing 30 people, including family, friends and business associates of the Ramseys.
In addition, detectives have also returned from Michigan where the Ramseys own a house, Boulder city spokeswoman Leslie Aaholm told CNN on Monday.
Prosecutor describes questions
Bill Wise, an assistant prosecutor in Boulder, said the written questions the parents answered dealt with "housekeeping" issues that could help in the investigation.
"They go to, when is milk delivered to your house? How many times has Federal Express delivered a package? Can you tell us some of the handymen who have worked around there in the recent past?" Wise said.
But, he added, police still want to speak directly with the couple. "A real interview that goes to the heart of the matter must take place face-to-face, and must take place in a police setting," he said.
The Ramseys have not spoken with investigators since the JonBenet's body was found about eight hours after the discovery of a handwritten ransom note. The note demanded $118,000, a source told CNN. Family members have given police handwriting samples.
The source also said a number of people, besides immediate family members, had keys to the house.
Sexual molestation confirmed
Over the weekend, CNN confirmed that the child's skull was fractured and that she had been sexually molested. Investigators have refused to publicly comment on that aspect of the case, despite news reports quoting anonymous sources.
Boulder police have only said the cause of death was asphyxiation.
Aaholm said she did not know when the Colorado Bureau of Investigation would complete tests on hair and blood samples taken by detectives.
JonBenet Ramsey, "Little Miss Colorado" of 1995, was found dead in a windowless room of the family's basement by her father and a friend on December 26.
The girl was buried in Georgia last week.
