Girl who opened package bomb in stable condition
December 25, 1996 CLINTON PARK, New York (CNN) -- A 10-year-old girl was in stable condition after a package delivered to her family's home on Christmas Eve exploded, New York state police said. Jordan Reardon suffered facial burns and cuts and was hospitalized at Albany Medical Center Hospital after the 10 p.m. explosion, but was later flown by helicopter to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. The State police said Jordan's parents found the package inside their mailbox in Clifton Park, about 15 miles north of Albany, and brought it inside their home. The girl opened the package in the kitchen area of the home and sustained burns to her upper torso when the package exploded.
