Simpson court intern quits after harassment controversy
November 7, 1996 SANTA MONICA, California (CNN) -- An 18-year-old court intern who was at the center of a controversy in the O.J. Simpson civil trial earlier this week after a newspaper reported Simpson allegedly harassed her, has decided to leave her position, CNN learned Thursday. Amber McGrath reached her decision Wednesday after lengthy talks with her mother, her school and court officials. Family members said McGrath's decision to leave was based largely on her belief that the media had violated her privacy. USA Today reported Monday that McGrath had claimed she had been sexually harassed by Simpson and was frightened of him. Simpson denied the charges, and McGrath disputed the details of the USA Today report. Special section:Related story:
