NEW YORK (CNN) -- Investigators, examining how a bomb could have brought down TWA Flight 800, are focusing on areas outside the center fuel tank, a law enforcement source told CNN. They are looking at a dry bay crawl space in front of the center fuel tank, as well as a space above the tank and one on the aft side. To destroy a Boeing 747, it would have taken a small potent bomb or a "shape charger" to channel the force of an explosion in one direction, the FBI said. Officials have recovered 95 percent of the plane and are please with the results of a trawling operation now under way. They are looking into theories that the plane was brought down by a bomb, missile or malfunction. Special Section:Related stories:
