Investigators scraping bottom for TWA clues
October 25, 1996 SMITHTOWN, N.Y. (CNN) -- Divers recovered the remains of another TWA Flight 800 victim, the first found in six weeks, the medical examiner's office said Friday. The remains of Eric Harkness, of Norwalk, Ohio, were recovered on Wednesday and have been identified through dental records. The medical examiner said the remains of 214 of the 230 victims have been recovered. Meanwhile, top investigators held a strategy session in Manhattan Friday and decided they will probably use scallop trawlers -- dredging the sand with long iron plates and collecting any objects in nets -- to make sure all the wreckage is lifted from the ocean floor. There also was talk of extending the mockup of the midsection to the rest of the plane to get a clearer picture of what happened, according to a National Transportation Safety Board source.
