MANAMA, Bahrain (CNN) -- The aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson, with 75 aircraft on board, has sailed out of the Persian Gulf, U.S. Navy spokesman Cmdr. T. McReary said Sunday. But a second American aircraft carrier, the Enterprise, remains in the Gulf to help enforce the "no-fly" zone. President Clinton sent the Enterprise to the Gulf last month, several weeks ahead of schedule, after tension with Iraq increased following Saddam Hussein's military intervention in the north of the country. More than 30,000 U.S. military personnel are currently in the region, most of them aboard the more than 25 ships.
