SACRAMENTO, California (CNN) -- The judge hearing the case of Unabomber suspect Theodore Kaczynski agreed Thursday to give defense attorneys more time to study the evidence available.

U.S. District Judge Garland Burrell told attorneys to be ready to prepare a timetable for pre-trial motions by September 20.

Kaczynski, who was arrested at his remote Montana cabin April 3, has been charged in four of the suspected Unabomber bombings. Two of the four were fatal.

Reuters contributed to this report.
