NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pennsylvania (CNN) -- The killing of Olympic wrestler Dave Schultz has shaken the lives of those associated with the wrestling facility run by John du Pont, the man charged with Schultz's murder.

Schultz was head coach of Foxcatcher, the world-class wrestling facility situated on du Pont's 800-acre Newtown Square estate. Du Pont is charged with killing Schultz on January 26.

"It makes you stop and think that wrestling is not the most important thing, that there are other things in life besides wrestling," said Don Reyes, a member of Team Foxcatcher and assistant coach of Philadelphia's Drexel University wrestling team.

Reyes moved to Pennsylvania from Arizona to pursue his Olympic dreams at Foxcatcher. As du Pont awaits trial, the future of Team Foxcatcher and its tremendous resources are unclear.

In light of what has happened, Reyes is not eager to return to du Pont's wrestling center.

"It's kind of hard to use his facilities when he killed Dave," he said.

Jack Childs is the head wrestling coach at Drexel University, and has worked with many Foxcatcher wrestlers.

"I feel very emotional about it," he said. "I feel something has been taken from (the wrestlers) at a time that's most critical. It will be hard for them to overcome."

Childs knew du Pont well. For the last three years, Drexel has hosted the John E. du Pont World Freestyle Team Trials, the tournament that determines the members of the U.S. world team. Like many others, Childs wishes du Pont's behavior had come under greater scrutiny earlier.

As Foxcatcher wrestlers struggle to overcome the disruption to their training, they know their problems pale next to the anguish of Schultz's family members.

"You can't replace a life," said Reyes. "You can always find places to workout, but you can't replace Dave Schultz." (96k AIFF sound or 96k WAV sound)
