(CNN) -- The State Department issued warnings Wednesday about travel in Israel and Kuwait as a result of the latest tensions over Iraq's refusal to give full access to U.N. weapons inspectors. The departure from both countries of all U.S. government employees in non-emergency positions, along with family members of embassy and consulate personnel, has been approved, and the State Department said private American citizens may want to consider leaving.
On November 3, the State Department issued a public announcement advising U.S. citizens residing or traveling abroad of the possibility of random acts of anti-American violence in the event of military intervention against Iraq.
In addition, the State Department issued a public announcement Wednesday advising U.S. citizens in Egypt to use caution because of the upcoming first anniversary of the attack on tourists at Luxor. Last November 17, Islamic militants killed 58 tourists and four Egyptians in Luxor.
