(CNN) -- The State Department is warning U.S. citizens to defer non-essential travel to Cambodia because of politically motivated violence, including street demonstrations, that occurred in the country earlier this month.
The State Department authorized the departure of family members of embassy personnel Friday and is urging American citizens currently in Cambodia to consider leaving. According to the State Department, airports in Cambodia are open and commercial flights are available.
