WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The U.S. State Department has issued a new travel warning for Bosnia-Herzegovina, spotlighting the dangers of land mines, occasional political violence and carjacking in the region.
Despite the end of the war there in 1995, the State Department said that problems still exist, and visitors should "avoid crowds and stay away from demonstrations." Mostar, Brcko, Foca, Drvar, Zepce, Stolac, Zenica, Pale and Srebrenica have the greatest potential for violence, the warning said.
The State Department also issued an announcement Monday concerning Lloyd Aereo Boliviano, recommending that Americans "exercise caution in the use of domestic air services within Bolivia" -- particularly on LAB's Boeing 727 aircraft -- because of concerns about the airline's safety practices.
