(CNN) -- From San Francisco to Atlantic City, Vienna to Hawaii, spring is bursting out all over, bringing with it a calendar full of festivals and fairs guaranteed to get your spring fever rising. Here's a sampling:

Make a weekend of it in San Francisco at the end of March with the city's Garden Show at the Cow Palace March 26-29. For more information, call (415) 495-1769.

Cherry Blossoms
From March 29 through April 12, the National Cherry Blossom Festival welcomes spring to Washington, D.C.

And if flowers aren't your bag, maybe music is -- the San Francisco Jazz Festival runs March 27-29 at Four Embarcadero Center. Etta James & The Roots Band, The Dirty Dozen and more fill the bill. Call (415) 398-5655 ext. 3 or (800) 627-5277.

On the other coast, the same weekend brings the Atlantique City Antiques & Collectibles Spring Fair in Atlantic City, New Jersey March 28-29. More than 1,200 dealers will be hawking their wares, and if that's not enough, kick back in casinos or on the Boardwalk. Find out more at: (800) 526-2724.

Further south, the Daytona Beach Spring '98 Speedway Spectacular at Florida's Daytona International Speedway March 28-29 is one heck of a car show right on the famous race track's infield. Rev up by calling (904) 255-7355.

Back in California, the 22nd Annual Monterey Wine Festival runs April 2-5 at the Monterey Marriott Hotel. The vino-bration features more than 200 wineries with more than 800 wines. Uncork more information at (408) 656-9463.

Two small-town festivals with national followings open on April 3. Knoxville, Tennessee's Dogwood Arts Festival, dubbed the "best 17 days of spring in America," runs through April 19. Call: (615) 637-4561. And in Poteet, Texas, the Poteet Strawberry Festival, one of the state's oldest festivals, covers the weekend through April 5 with berries and entertainment. George Vanderbilt's Blue Ridge Mountain chateau hosts the Festival of Flowers at Biltmore April 10 through May 10 in Asheville, North Carolina. Floral displays fill every room and the gardens are ablaze at the 1895 mansion. Dig up the dirt at (800) 543-2961.

It's hula in Hilo, Hawaii as the Merrie Monarch Festival gets underway April 12. The festival, ending April 18, is capped with the world's largest hula festival, which boasts competitions in ancient and modern divisions of the Hawaiian art. Get in the loop by calling (808) 935-9168.

Yet another festival begins on April 17 -- the Kentucky Derby Festival leading up to the first leg of racing's Triple Crown. The festival runs through May 3, with the annual run for the roses on May 2.

Houston, Missouri hosts the Emmett Kelly Clown Festival May 1-3. Emmett Kelly, Jr., is scheduled to make a special appearance. Get in on the fun by calling (417) 967-2220.

Further afield, the acclaimed Vienna Festival in Austria begins May 8 and continues through June 14. The festival features more than a thousand events in music and ballet. Call (43) 1 589 220.

Back across the border, lilacs are the order of the day in Rochester, New York, for the Lilac Festival at Highland Park May 15-25. The park was developed by Central Park (New York) designer Frederick Law Olmstead.

Spoleto USA takes off in Charleston, South Carolina May 22-June 7. The festival features everything -- theater, dance, music, poetry readings, American and world premieres -- with the 17th century seaport as a backdrop.

Not an everyday -- or even every year -- occurrence, World Expo '98 opens its gates May 22 in Lisbon, Portugal, running through September 30. The expo's theme is "The Oceans, a Heritage for the Future." It is the last world expo of the 20th century.

And Memory, an exhibit at San Francisco's Exploratorium, runs May 22, 1998 through January 10, 1999. The exhibit explores the dynamics of memory, beginning with your own. Remember this number: (415) 563-7337
