Spring is sprung
Cherry blossoms at peak in Washington
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A relatively mild winter has the cherry blossoms in the nation's capital already blooming, with the annual National Cherry Blossom Festival set to begin on March 29. The National Park Service says that this week -- and through the weekend -- is the blossoms' spring explosion peak. The weeping cherries peak about two weeks before the Yoshinos, and the Kwanzan cherries peak two to three weeks later.
