Strap on Your Thinking Cap, Colorado Springs!
March 15, 1997 (CNN) -- French philosopher Rene Descartes pared it down to five serious little words. Thinkers in Colorado Springs, Colorado are putting fun back into the noble pursuit, with a massive two-week cerebral carnival. More than 200,000 people are expected to attend the Kennedy Center Imagination Celebration, which begins Saturday. The festival features art exhibitions, musical and dance performances, poetry contests and other expressions of inexhaustible ingenuity. The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts sponsors the program, which runs until April 30. Most events are free.
