A seat on the Concorde, for 16 bucks?
February 10, 1997Web posted at: 10:30 p.m. EST (0330 GMT) LONDON (CNN) -- British Airways, in a promotion marking 10 years since the company was privatized, is offering $16 round-trip tickets on the Concorde from London to New York. The offer includes seats on every Concorde flight over the next 10 days, with a total of 195 tickets. The offer only covers round-trip travel, originating in London. A round-trip Concorde flight on British Airways normally costs $8,000. Tickets go on sale Tuesday at 5 p.m. EST (22:00 GMT). The airline has set up a special phone bank with British Telecom for the expected surge of calls.
