A Super celebration in Metropolis
The Man of Steel is making his appearance in Metropolis, Illinois this week. The town's three-day Superman Celebration takes off on Thursday, June 12. The festival features a comics show, a staged Superman drama, and contests for Supergirls, Superboys and even Superdogs -- as well as "mere mortal" activities such as a bluegrass concert, a classic car show, and a bike race. An estimated 265,000 music-lovers are converging on Birmingham, Alabama this weekend for red-hot jazz, rock, country and blues.
