Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden
This cylindrical building opened in 1974 to house modern and contemporary art given to the Smithsonian by financier Joseph H. Hirshhorn. Over the years, the collection has grown, and the museum now features large-scale changing exhibits and "Directions" shows that introduce modern masters and trends of the 90s. Inside, you'll find work by artists such as Rodin, Warhol, de Kooning, O'Keeffe, Degas, Matisse and many more. Outside, sculpture dominates the landscaped grounds.
