Stone-faced though the participants may be, there's always a party on the corner of North 34th Street and Fremont Avenue. The sculpture Waiting for the Interurban -- which recalls the Interurban Trolley that used to run to the city -- is often festooned with streamers, balloons and second-hand fashions in honor of Fremonters' birthdays.
If you're lucky, you can catch a glimpse of mighty Mount Rainier from here.
