CNN BREAKING NEWS

Two Big Explosions in Istanbul, Turkey

Aired November 20, 2003 - 06:59   ET

THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.

CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: We're still watching the door at 10 Downing Street. We want to take a live picture of that for the folks out there watching us. We're waiting for the president and Tony Blair to come out and walk just a short distance away into another building, where they will hold a joint press conference.
Reporters will be in the audience and, of course, they will be talking about those two big explosions in Istanbul, Turkey, one targeting a London-based bank, the other the British consulate. We understand 17 people have been killed, 350 people have been injured.

You know, earlier this morning we watched that solemn ceremony when President Bush laid the wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior at Westminster Abbey.

AMERICAN MORNING will have much more on all of this as we see who comes out the door.

AMERICAN MORNING starts right now.
