Aired December 6, 2002 - 10:18   ET

THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.

LEON HARRIS, CNN ANCHOR: We want to continue the coverage this morning of the breaking stories that we're getting from Washington. Shocking news coming from the Bush administration, word that Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill has handed in his resignation to be effective within a matter of weeks. Also, the resignation of economic adviser Larry Lindsey has also been handed in.
And the word that we're getting from the White House is that these two gentlemen actually turned in their resignations at the request of the White House. Not clear exactly what happened there, but we'll try to get some more on that for you later on this morning, so stay with us.
