U.S. Attorney to Investigate Marc Rich Pardon for Quid Pro Quo

JUDY WOODRUFF, CNN ANCHOR: Before we go back to House hearings into network coverage of the election last November, we have developing story we want to tell you about. The Associated Press is reporting that the U.S. attorney in New York, Mary Jo White, has launched an investigation into former President Clinton's pardon of the fugitive financier Marc Rich.

The AP is quoting a source as saying Miss White is trying to determine if there was a transfer of money to buy the pardon. Again, this story just in from the Associated Press. CNN will be pursuing it and as we get more information, more details, we will bring it to you.

Again, on the controversial pardon of Marc Rich, the reporting from the AP that the New York U.S. attorney has launched an investigation into the pardon.
