Aired November 22, 2000 - 8:27 a.m. ET

THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.

LEON HARRIS, CNN ANCHOR: Right now, let's get some more reaction from the Bush camp on the news this morning about Dick Cheney's hospitalization.

CNN's Tony Clark is standing by in Austin, Texas this morning -- Tony.

TONY CLARK, CNN CORRESPONDENT Leon, Governor Bush was called this morning about 5:00 local time by campaign chairman Don Evans and he was informed about Secretary Cheney and his hospitalization with chest and shoulder pains. A short time after that, the governor called Secretary Cheney, and aides tell us that both men are in good spirits, and we expect to hear from the governor, a statement from the governor, a little bit later this morning, his reaction. But again, the initial tests on Secretary Cheney look positive. The governor being said that Cheney was in good spirits, and we are told that the governor is in good spirits. And as I say, we expect to hear more from the governor a little bit later this morning -- Leon.

HARRIS: All right, thanks much, Tony Clark.
