British Airways Suspends Operations of Concorde FleetAired August 15, 2000 - 8:52 a.m. ET

LEON HARRIS, CNN ANCHOR: We are getting word right now out of London that British Airways will suspend its Concorde flights. Right now, it only has one flight working between the U.S. and Britain. And, as you may know, Air France had suspended all of its Concorde operations in the wake of that crash in Gonesse, France a few weeks ago.
British Airways had kept its flights up. But now they are saying that because Britain's air accident investigation branch has agreed to suspend certification of that plane, British Airways will now spend its Concorde flights.
