THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.
JEANNE MESERVE, CNN ANCHOR: We want to bring you the latest information we've been able to glean about a plane crash near Boca Raton, Florida. I want to warn you that the information we're collecting is sketchy and sometime accounts are conflicting but here's what we've been able to learn.
According to some eyewitnesses, two aircraft collided west of Boca Raton, near a golf course. At least one of those came down and hit a housing complex, it's possible that one of the buildings in that complex was damaged.
According to some of the eyewitnesses who were quoted by the Associated Press, one of the aircraft involved may have been a helicopter, the other apparently a Learjet, possibly a Lear 55, that's a twin-engine jet.
Again quoting eyewitnesses, one of them said that they saw someone parachute out of one of the aircraft, as yet we know nothing about the fate of those involved, how many there were on board, where these aircraft took off from, or where they were going, or whether indeed there are two aircraft involved, whether one is a helicopter, or whether both were planes.
It's clear from some of the wreckage we've seen that at least one of them was a plane. There was fire, you can see there, firefighters hosing down the wreckage, we believe, of the plane that hit the housing complex. There is a very tall building adjacent to where these pictures were taken.
We are continuing to follow this story, we will continue to bring the very latest.
