(CNN) -- Not everyone is pleased about John Glenn's return to space, and the dissenters include some within the NASA ranks.

Is John Glenn's participation just a stunt for NASA to build a more favorable public opinion of the space program, or will we really gain valuable data that no other person could obtain? Is the mission really about science, is it about PR, or is it about celebrating heroes?

CNN's Mark Potter presents views from all sides of the debate.
