NEW YORK (CNN) -- It costs about as much as a pricey purebred. But this dog is bred purely by computer engineers.

Sony's 'AIBO' has a camera for eyes, microphones for ears and is controlled by a powerful computer chip. It's about the size of a Chihuahua with sensors in its paws and an antenna-like tail.

CNN's Jeanne Moos took the pet computer for a walk and says that for a machine, it's pretty smart.
