(IDG) -- The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Wednesday said the country's 103 nuclear power plants are ready for the year 2000 rollover.

According to NRC spokesman Victor Dricks, safety-related systems at all 103 plants had been Y2K-ready since July 1. At that time, he said, 68 of the plants were declared fully Y2K-ready, while 35 needed to complete work on nonsafety systems like those involved with power generation and plant support.

During the past four months, the NRC has confirmed satisfactory completion of the remaining work. Dricks said all systems are now fully compliant, although he confirmed there is currently no list detailing how each plant has checked its Y2K readiness.

"We asked all our licensees to provide us with a list of what hadn't been done, which they did," he said. "As of two or three weeks ago all the work had been done."
