(IDG) -- Compaq Computer Corp. has released in the U.S. market two new palm-sized PCs in its Aero line that run on the Windows CE platform. The Aero 1530, priced at $299, comes with a docking cradle, AC adapter, two styluses, an auto adapter and a travel synchronization cable.
The handheld PC is .5 inches thick and has a 16 gray-scale display. The rechargeable battery allows up to 14 hours of use, Compaq said in a statement announcing the new machines. The Aero also comes loaded with assorted software applications for e-mail, word processing and spreadsheet functions. The Aero 2180 also has a docking cradle with a battery charger, an AC adapter and two batteries. Priced at $449, the 2180 has 24MB of memory and a color screen. Besides the new Aero machines, Compaq also announced it has dropped prices up to 20 percent across the line.
