(IDG) -- U.S. District Judge Nancy G. Edmunds heard arguments from Ford Motor Co. and Web site publisher Robert Lane Monday regarding Ford's efforts to secure a permanent injunction against Lane's publishing confidential Ford documents on his Web site.

The judge will consider the arguments and rule by next Tuesday. Meanwhile, she has continued a restraining order against Lane.

The dispute began when Lane, a former Ford Mustang enthusiast in Dearborn, Mich., began publishing documents leaked to him by Ford engineers and others. Ford maintains that the site infringes company copyrights and security while Lane cites freedom of speech (see "Ford Motors, Web author spar in court," link below).
