LITTLETON, Colorado (CNN) -- Among the items seized from the home of Littleton school murder suspect Eric Harris was a computer, and police are hoping it may hold clues about what motivated Tuesday's shooting and bombing spree -- and who might have had ties to the suspects.

"We're going to be looking at this whole organization that these kids supposedly belonged to," said Jefferson County Sheriff John Stone, referring to a group called the "Trenchcoat Mafia," to which Harris and his alleged cohort, Dylan Klebold, reportedly belonged.

"We've seized a computer. We're going to be looking at that to try to trace back as many affiliates as we can," said Stone, who said it is "very possible" that the two suspects could have gotten bomb-making knowledge off the Internet.

Harris reportedly had a Web site on America Online which included violent song lyrics, sketches and recipes for making bombs. AOL says it has been in touch with the FBI and is preserving online material that might be relevant to the case.

A student from Columbine High School, where the murders took place, told CNN affiliate KUSA that he had once been threatened on Harris' Web site.

In the wake of the murders in Littleton, there were postings on AOL from users claiming to be associated with the "Trenchcoat Mafia." AOL officials say those postings are most likely fakes, and they say such hoaxes are common after big news events.

On the other hand, authorities are hoping suspects Harris and Klebold left enough clues in cyberspace to provide some answers.
