Dole campaign to accept contributions online
March 13, 1999 by Jana Sanchez (IDG) -- Presidential candidate Elizabeth Dole will use a product developed by German electronic-commerce software company Intershop Communications Inc. to allow her supporters to make financial contributions to her campaign on her Web site. Working with Fountainhead Management, Intershop has provided the Dole 2000 campaign with its Intershop Enterprise Edition application for making direct payments online with a credit card, Intershop said in a release today. An estimated 500,000 people will visit the Dole 2000 Web site each day, Intershop said. Intershop, with headquarters in Jena, Germany, and listed on Germany's Neuer Markt, also has headquarters in San Francisco.
