LAS VEGAS (CNN) -- If turmoil in the Asian economy put a damper on attendance at the Consumer Electronics Show, as one conventioneer predicted, you couldn't feel it on the floor.
The convention center throbbed with loud and colorful exhibits. Conventioneers carried bags filled with giveaways as they shuffled around from one exhibit to the next.
Celebrities popped up frequently, ranging from the familiar -- Lou Rawls sang for Philips, former NFL quarterback Boomer Esiason signed autographs at DirectTV -- to the bizarre -- porn star Ron Jeremy and rocker Alice Cooper had scheduled appearances, and Hustler publisher Larry Flynt was said to be in attendance.
